Sheila K. Wilson Hook, 58, of Owensboro passed away Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Leitchfied, KY on January 22, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Tom Wilson of Caneyville and Billie Daniel Wilson Yates and worked at Barney's Restaurant for 17 years. Mrs. Hook enjoyed her family, especially her children and grandchildren; and loved cooking, country music and spending time with friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a step-father, Frank Yates a brother, Joey Wilson, and a grandson, Tyler Hook.
Surviving are her children, Tony (Clara) Hook and Kena Hook of Owensboro, and Gary (Jessi) Hook of Nashville; grandchildren, Jacob Hook and Quest Hook; a step-mother, Betty Wilson; sisters, Nita (Benny) Nix of Grand Rivers, KY, Francie Watts of Owensboro, and Beverly Wilson of Boston, MA; brothers, Ronnie Yates of Mt Vernon, IN and Darrell Wilson of North Carolina; and a special grand-dog, Maddie.
Services are 12 noon Thursday, September 22, 2011 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in St Mary of the Woods Cemetery in Whitesville. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
