Shaun Thomas Winstead, 38, of Owensboro passed away January 29, 2017 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky surrounded by his family. He was born on September 18, 1978 in Owensboro to Regina Howard and Andy Winstead. Shaun loved spending time with family and friends but more than anything he loved being a father to his daughters. Shaun was an unforgettable man and never met a stranger. He had charm and wit and loved making the people around him laugh. Music was an important part of Shaun's life, and he loved to attend as many concerts as possible with friends. Shaun was loyal to his favorite teams, notably the Louisville Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, and Tennessee Titans as well as watching NASCAR.
Shaun was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Martin and Dorothy Winstead and his maternal grandfather, Benjamin White.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his fiancé of 12 years, Amber Crooks; daughters, Gabriella (Gabby) Winstead, Emma Winstead, and Taylor Winstead all of Owensboro; maternal grandmother, Carolyn White; half-sister, Heaven Winstead; half-brother, Zachary Winstead and a host of loving uncles, aunts and cousins.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Lewis Lane Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery at Falls of Rough. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and after 9:00 AM on Wednesday at Lewis Lane Baptist Church. A prayer service will be held 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to a scholarship fund for his daughters at Green River Federal Credit Union.
