Sharon Sickman, 57, of Owensboro passed away Friday October 13th, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Sharon was born March 20, 1960 to Ed and Helen Steeb. She grew up traveling overseas for many years of her childhood. Sharon was an active member of Owensboro Christian Church where she was very involved with her Sunday School class. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, traveling to scenic locations, and walking in country settings. Sharon loved working with children and was involved in the Homework Help program that assisted Burmese immigrant children with their homework. She held a BS degree in foods and nutrition from Purdue University. In earlier years, she worked at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN in the dietetic department.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ed Steeb; her brothers, Tom, Doug, and Curt Steeb.
Survivors include her husband of 34 ½ years, Tim Sickman of Owensboro; her daughters, Jenna Stoss (Jonathan) of Nashville, TN and Amanda Sickman of Owensboro; her mother, Helen Steeb of Keller, TX; her brother, Mark Steeb of Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces and nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
The service will be 2PM Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Scott Kenworth will officiate. The visitation will be 10AM until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to Owensboro Christian Church.
