Sean (Joseph) Minnis, 38, of Utica, passed away Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born November 6, 1971 in Nashville, TN, he was a 1989 graduate of Apollo High School; was a Navy veteran; worked for Miles Farm Supply as their database administrator. Sean loved to read, especially fiction; listen to all types of music; cook; and spend time with his family. He was a caring, loving person with a quick wit and always calming manner. He was the family's Mr. Fix-it, no task too large or too small for his time and effort. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mary Jo Mackey.
Surviving are his life partner, Wes LuAllen; his birth mother, Judi (Rodney Barnes) Hill of Utica; his mother who raised him, Patricia Mackey of Utica; aunts, uncles and cousins, Steve and Renee Mackey and children, Daniel Mackey and Greg Mackey all of Utica and Anthony Greenlee of Owensboro and Matthew Greenlee of Lumberton, NC; Charlie and Debbie Mackey and children, Joshua (Stacie) Mackey and Evan Mackey and Lauren (Robbie) May and Ava and Aubrey May; and James "Bubba" and Diane Pierce and his cousin/special sister, Kim "Sissy" Pierce Tutt all of Old Hickory, TN; and brothers, Chris Minnis of Nashville and Kelly Minnis of Texas; and sisters, Lisa Lamar and Merry Joe.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Charles Barnes officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery in Ohio County.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Miles Employee Charitable Fund.
