Sean Aaron Gauley, 18, of Owensboro, KY, completed his journey home to be with his Lord and receive his heavenly reward on January 13, 2014, at the U.A.B. Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Because Sean had been loved by Christ, he wanted people to know about the God he served and he spent his life telling them with not only words but his actions. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church, and served his church by mentoring teenage boys and being active with the audio visual department. He served others as a gentleman and a listener, and he was a gracious old soul who was wise beyond his years and spent every day trying to make sure people felt special and loved. Sean was bright, and was currently a freshman at Mississippi College where he was studying secondary education with an emphasis in biology. He had worked at Salsarita's for two years, and spent his free time gaming, reading, dancing and hanging out with friends. He will be remembered greatly for his smile which was so big it caused his eyes to close and brought joy to all.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bink and Beverly Gauley.
Survivors include his parents, Jim and RaeAnne Gauley; siblings, Jessica Gauley Jeremiah and her husband Josh of Chattanooga, TN, Austin Gauley of Tallahassee, FL and Jeremiah Gauley of Louisville; and maternal grandparents, Robert and Dixie Perry of Denham Springs, LA.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Heritage Baptist Church, 3585 Thruston-Dermont Road. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday, all visitations will be held at the church. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory will be caring for the Gauley Family.
