Scott York

Scott York, 29, of Owensboro died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at his home. Born January 3, 1976, Scott attended Apollo High School and then Owensboro Community College. He had worked in construction. Scott was baptized at Third Baptist Church and attended Owensboro Christian Church recently. Scott excelled in soccer and held the state scoring record for several years. He loved all sports. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Rosie Loney.

To know Scott was to love him. He had a big heart and loved his family very much. He often said he was very lucky to be born to a family that loved him so much. His brothers were his best friends and his son was the love of his life.

He is survived by his son, Trevor York of Owensboro; his parents, Rick and Carla York of Owensboro; two brothers, Jonathan York and Jeff (and sister-in-law Krissy) York all of Owensboro; grandparents, Ray and Opal York of Owensboro, John and Barbara Byrne of Owensboro, and Earl Loney of Owensboro; and great-grandparents, Will and Jessie Kowal of Tell City.

Funeral services are 11:30 A.M. Monday, September 26, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1-8 P.M. on Sunday and after 9 A.M. on Monday.
