Saundra Jean Melhiser-Kirchhevel

Saundra Jean Melhiser-Kirchhevel, 82, of Owensboro, passed away December 25, 2023, at home, surrounded by her family.  She was born December 7, 1941, in Connersville, IN to the late Bill and Mary Melhiser.

Saundra graduated from Owensboro High School in 1960.  She had many friends but devoted her life to her four children.  Later, Saundra went on to work at the Executive Inn and Mercy Hospital.  She was a member of the Choir at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.  Saundra was also preceded in death by infant brother, William.

She is survived by her beloved husband of twenty-four years, Lawrence Kirchhevel; children, Randy Nazario, Mike (Cindy) Nazario, Loary (Steve) Bartlett, and Vicki (Patrick) Beer; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four stepchildren; sister, Sheila (Randall) Hagan; brother, Tim Melhiser; sister-in-law, Kathy Brey and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The family would like to thank Saundra’s caregiver, Crystal Meserve and Hospice of Western Kentucky.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
