Sarah H. Owen

Sarah H. Owen, 95, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born December 20, 1920 in Nashville, TN to the late Douglas Lester and Genevieve Charles High. Sarah was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlework, and reading. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church. Being married to a United Methodist Minister, they served many churches together, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Marshall R. Owen on November 17, 1988, and her brothers and sisters, Jane High, Peggy Dunn, Charles Douglas High, and Richard C. High.

Sarah is survived by her children, Randall H. Owen and wife Jean of Owensboro, Rebecca O. Hickok and husband Pat of Atlanta, GA, Marsha Bivens and husband Donnie of Owensboro, and Roberta O. Jones and husband Jackie of Nortonville, six grandchildren, Keith Owen, Kevin Owen and wife Jenni, Tyler Duggins, Troy Holloway, Jarrod Jones and wife Kristin, and Erin Adams and husband Jason, and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 1, at St. John United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 9:00 A.M. Friday at St. John United Methodist Church.
