Sarah Lee Hall Marksberry, 85, of Utica, KY, passed away quietly at her home May 13, 2018. She was born March 20, 1933 to the late Charles and Flora Mae Hall in Stanley, KY. Sarah was a graduate of Central High School in Evansville, IN. She married Gene Marksberry of Utica, in 1951. Prior to having children, Sarah worked outside the home. She was a hard worker and had fond memories of those jobs. Sarah then became a proud homemaker who never had a closed door, being a mother to many more people than just her children. She enjoyed sewing, reading, horse racing, and especially college basketball.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; sons, Ronnie and Steve; brother, Chuck; daughters-in-law, Tracy and Lisa; son-in-law, Mark; and granddaughters, Julie and Jessica.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Marksberry, Peggy Hunter-Marksberry, and Jennifer (Eddie) Fulkerson; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her remaining extended family was very dear to her.
A graveside service will be held 11am Thursday, May 17, in the chapel of Parklawn Cemetery in Evansville. Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm Wednesday evening at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
