Sandra Florence Payne

Sandra Florence Payne, 65, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born July 1, 1944 in Astoria, OR, Mrs. Payne was the daughter of the late James Boogaerts and Edmond C. and Mary Johnson Green; was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; and was retired from Wal-Mart where she was a greeter and cashier. She enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, collecting dolls, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Rick) Holton of Owensboro; sons, Michael W. Payne of Owensboro and Eric C. ( Shialine) Payne of Rockledge, FL; step-sons, Bernard "Allen" (Wendy) Payne of Clayton, NC and David (Michelle) Payne of Owensboro; grandchildren, Michaella Payne, Nicholas Payne, Trevor Payne, Marissa Payne, and Christopher Payne all of Owensboro; several step-grandchildren; a great-grandchild, Keigan Horn of Owensboro; brothers, Richard Boogaerts, Eddie Green and Paul Boogaerts all of Florida, Jimmy Boogaerts of Tennessee, and Buddy Boogaerts of Louisiana; sisters, Billie Williams of Owensboro and Marcla Green of Florida; and her companion of 3-years, James LeBlanc.

Services are 4 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Father Maury Riney officiating. Visitation will be from 12-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
