Sandra "Sandy" Burden

Sandra “Sandy” Burden, 68, of Owensboro, passed away April 19, 2026. She was born to the late Shultie Burden and Lorene Belcher Burden Hardy on March 15, 1958.

Ms. Sandy worked diligently in the healthcare field at many local nursing homes where she touched the lives of those she cared for and worked for. In her early years, she was a surveyor. Sandy enjoyed fishing, hanging out with friends, and was a devout member of the church. Most of all, Sandy loved spending time with her three beloved kids and spoiling her grandkids. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and was a rescuer and lover of many pets throughout the years. Piper, Spike, Minnie Sue, Gabbie, and Xena are a few to name.

In addition to her parents, Sandy was also preceded in death by brother, Roger Burden, sister-in-law, Judy Clark Burden, and a very special friend, Vonnie Toler.

The legacy Sandy leaves behind is engrained within her surviving three children, Billy "Bo" (Tabitha) Gene Drace III, Blake (Shelly) Drace, and her daughter and caretaker, Amanda Drace. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Alex, Mason, Ethan, Aniya, Sophia, and Mya; sister, Kathy (Mike) Hudson; brothers, Mike (Sherry) Burden and Danny (Di Anna) Burden along with several nieces and nephews, and a host of others that considered her a mother and came to her for advice and inspiration.

A time of remembrance will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of remembrance.
