Samuel N. Norris

Samuel N. Sam Norris, 81, of 3128 Settles Road, Owensboro died Tuesday, November 19, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on July 21, 1921 the son of Isaac and Celeste Pennington Norris.

Mr. Norris retired from General Electric as a supervisor in the tube department after 26 years. He was a member of Seven Hills Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II, Army Air Force, where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Distinguished Flying Cross.

Survivors include a nephew, William Randall Bruner of Newburgh, IN; two nieces, Sandra Faye Hardison and Betty Celeste Boyd, both of Owensboro; several great-nephews and great-nieces.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend T. A. Prickett. Burial will be private. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2002 and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home.
