Samantha Lynn Peak

Samantha Lynn Peak, 61, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on December 19, 1964, in Owensboro, to Carl Brackett and Linda Kinison. Samantha retired from Wal-Mart where she worked in the deli department and was a private sitter.

She loved her family and her grandchildren more than anything, especially spending holidays together and traveling with them. Samantha took her faith in Jesus Christ very seriously, being a member of Little Flock Church. She was also a lover of pets, especially her dog, Jaxson and her rabbit, BunBun, and enjoyed playing bunco, bingo, and bowling in her younger years.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Brackett; stepfather, Milton Scott; and a son, John Michael Peak.

Samantha is survived by a daughter, Dana (Brandon) Payne; her mother, Linda Scott; grandchildren, Lucas Bowlds and Brody Payne; siblings, John Brackett, Chris (Jodie) Brackett, Teresa (James) West, Carla (Brian) Green, and Mike Orr; also, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The memorial service for Samantha will be held at 4 pm, Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Little Flock Church. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery.
