Sam McRath

June 30, 1932 — January 15, 2004

Sam McRath, 71, of Owensboro died Thursday, January 15, 2004 near his home. The Daviess County native was a retired cook for Southside Bar-B-Que and was a member of the 10th Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by a son, Dale McRath of Owensboro; six daughters, Beverly Anderson of Clearwater, FL, C-Ann McRath of Norfolk, VA, and Earnestine Hightower, Sabrina McRath, Sylvia Durr, and Earnell Willis all of Owensboro; his 105 year old father, Hawk McRath of Savannah, TN; 28 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Earl Walker of Battle Creek, MI; his caregiver, Virgie Shaw of Owensboro; and three aunts and one uncle.

Funeral services are 1 P.M. Monday, January 19, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-6 P.M. Sunday and after 10:00 A.M. Monday.
