Sallie Belle Howard

Sallie Belle Howard, 69, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 with loving family at her side. She was born in Owensboro to the late Joseph E. and Flora B. Hinton Frantz.
Sallie retired from Hillcrest (Signature Healthcare) after many years of service as a CNA. She was a member of Saints Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. Sallie loved church picnics, her flower garden and most of all spending time with family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Joseph Hugh Howard, Sr. in 2005; a young daughter, Mary Jane Howard; grandchildren, Desmond and Kaelyn; a sister, Mary; brothers, Joe, Bernard, Jim, John and a twin brother, Billy.
She is survived by seven children, Joseph H. Howard, Jr, Jerry Howard (Kelly Ford), Jim Howard, Melissa "Missy" Fitzgerald (Mendal), Elizabeth West (Jason), Randy Howard and Tom Howard, all of Owensboro; a step-son, Rick Hurst (Carol) of Hancock County; grandchildren, Jill, Blake, Ethan, Heather, Dylan, Savannah, Tanner, Austin, Brice, Nathan, Keaton, Kendall, Kobe, Kamren, Jordan, Tyler, Jaylin, Secora and J.D.; great grandchildren, Maddie, Skylar and Cash; a brother, Dan Frantz of Owensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be at 12 Tuesday, September 22 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at St. Mary of the Woods in Whitesville. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 PM, with prayers at 7 PM, and on Tuesday after 10 AM at the funeral home.
