Ryan Steven Tucker

Ryan Steven Tucker, 28, of Louisville, formerly of Owensboro, died suddenly Thursday, February 2, 2006, in Baton Rouge, LA. Born in Lexington, the son of Dr. Steven R. and Deborah Edmonds Tucker, Ryan was graduated from Owensboro High School, where he played baseball, football, and basketball, and from the University of Mississippi where he earned a degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management. Following graduation, he worked as a property manager for Vail Properties in Vail, CO, then returned to the University of Mississippi where he was instrumental in establishing network subscription pay-for-view Web sites for Ole Miss athletic events. Ryan then was recruited by XOS Technology, a firm providing digitized film conversion and play diagramming for the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and the National Hockey League. Ryan fully embraced his family, friends, and life. As an avid sports enthusiast, he enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, and hiking. He had a keen interest in music as well as a love for travel, having recently returned from a backpacking trip in Europe.

In addition to his parents, survivors include his sister and best friend, Whitney Elizabeth Tucker of Lexington, and his grandmothers, Virginia Shaw Tucker of Madisonville and Joann Parker Edmonds of Murray.

Services are at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Owensboro Christian Church. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from noon until 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday in Elmwood Cemetery.
