Ruth Ann Squire, 73, of Owensboro died Wednesday, August 2 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born September 3, 1943 in Daviess County to the late James and Veronica Stallings Ralph. Ruth Graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1961 and worked as an Office Manager for a fertility specialist in Washington D.C for 30 years. After retiring, she moved to Florida and opened a boutique. She eventually returned to Owensboro and opened a flea market where she thoroughly enjoyed the antiques, collectibles, and the people never meeting a stranger. She loved bragging on her grandchildren.
Ruth also was preceded in death by her three brothers, Buddy, Gene, and Bobby Ralph and two sisters, Agnes Lancaster and Bea Westerfield.
Those left to cherish her memory include her four children, James Bland of Owensboro, Veronica Connelly and husband Steve of Inwood, West Virginia, Joe Bland and wife Cathy of Whitesville, and Paul Bland and wife Mary also of Owensboro; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild; brothers, Joe (Iris), James (Glenda, and Tom (Marie) Ralph; sister, Virginia Tipton; several nieces and nephews.
The service will be 10:00 AM Saturday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church with Father Brian Roby officiating. Inurnment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with prayers at 5:00 and Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
