Ruth Evelyn Reinhart Spurlock, 81, of Owensboro, died, Friday, January 4, 2002 at her home. The Dale, IN native retired from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital in 1988 after 25 years of service as a nurse's assistant. She was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed reading her Bible, watching Gaither gospel videos, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, collecting Dennis the Menace cartoons and laughing with family and friends. Her husband of 53 years, Clayton Spurlock, died in 1993.
Survivors include five sons, Laryy Spurlock of Denver, Darryl Spurlock of Evansville, and Phillip Spurlock, Lenn Spurlock and Kenn Spurlock all of Owensboro; a daughter, Gwen Powers of Denver; 14 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five brothers, Eldo Reinhart of Holland, IN, Paul Reinhart of Cincinnati, Ray Reinhart of Phoenix, Amon Reinhart of Chicago, and Bob Reinhart of Atlanta; four sisters, Fern Rice of Newburgh, Doris Counts and Norma Sanzoni both of Detroit and Faye Hufnagel of Dale.
Services were 10 A.M. Monday, January 7, 2002 at Walnut Memorial Baptist Church in Owensboro with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gentryville, IN.
