Ruth Agnes Johnson

Ruth Agnes Johnson, 92, of Owensboro, passed away on February 10, 2012 at the Carmel Home. She was born in Daviess County to the late Charles C. "C.C." and Mary Catherine Higdon.

Ruth was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and spending time with family.
She was part of the St. Lawrence Parish for many years before attending Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Justin Aloysius Johnson in 1987; sons, Michael Johnson (infant) in 1956 and David Edmond Johnson in 1969; a grandson, Jason Hardesty in 1990; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by seven daughters, Mary Ann Kurz ( Tommy ), Eileen Mattingly ( Tony ) , Theresa Haire (Darrell) , Yvonne Fulenwider ( George ) all of Owensboro, Cecilia Harnden (Phil) of Bradenton, FL, Dolores Hagan ( Chuck ) of Hudson, KY and Sister Clara Johnson, O.S.U. of Mt. Saint Joseph; sons, Leon Johnson of Owensboro and Charles Gregory Johnson ( Linda ) of Knottsville; twenty grandchildren; forty four great grandchildren.

The funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Monday, February 13, 2012 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Reverends Brad Whistle and Pat Bittel will officiate and burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm (prayers at 4:00 pm) at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends may also visit on Monday from 9:00 am until service time at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Lawrence Church Cemetery Fund or the Carmel Home.
