Ruth H. Jackson

Ruth Bivins Jackson, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Richard Burr & Laura Pearl Emmick Bivins. She was retired as a legal secretary for a number of attorneys in Owensboro. She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and the Mary Lou Phillips Sunday School class and she loved spending time with all of her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald H. Jackson on July 21, 1981 and two brothers, Carl & LeRoy Bivins.

Surviving are two daughters, Jean J. Alley of Owensboro and Marilyn J. and husband John R. Fleming of Louisville, a sister, Michael Reynolds of Hammond, In., six grandchildren, Karen Sylvia of Colorado, Brian Alley of Owensboro, Donna Seaton of North Carolina, Dr. John Fleming, Jr. of South Carolina, Randall Fleming of Louisville, and Michelle Longhofer of Lexington, 13 great grandchildren, and five nieces & nephews, James Robert Bivins and Anne B. Roberts, both of Maceo, John Allen Bivins of Owensboro, Patty Alexander of DeMotte, In., and Pam Hastings of Hammond.

Services will be at 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, December 27, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
