Ruth Chapman Hobbs

Ruth Elizabeth Chapman Hobbs, 92, of Owensboro died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at The Hermitage Care & Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born October 17, 1924 in Ensor, Kentucky to the late Forrest and Mary(Rowland) Chapman. She was a 1942 graduate of Daviess County High School, served in the Daviess County Sheriff's department and retired from the Daviess County Court Clerk's Office. Ruth was a lifelong member of Settle Memorial Church. She spent her retirement happily traveling the country with her dear friends from school and volunteering at the Riverpark Center.

Ruth is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Sue Chapman Stone and is survived by her son, Ralph E. Hobbs (Gayle) of Owensboro and the granddaughter she adored, Samantha Hobbs Price (Chip) of Bellevue, Kentucky.

The family particularly thanks the loving staff at Heritage Place Assisted Living Center, who cared for Ruth as if she were family.

Ruth asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Settle Memorial Church or the Riverpark Center

Visitation will be from 10 to 12 noon Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. A committal service will be held 12:30 pm in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
