Ruth Miller Hazelrigg, 101, a longtime resident of Owensboro,Ky. passed away Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Allisonville Meadows Nursing Home in Fishers, Indiana while under the care of Anew Hospice. She was born November 28, 1923, to James T. and Lelia Duncan Miller in Daviess County. She was a 1942 graduate of Daviess County High School. Ruth worked at General Electric Company for seven years.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, O.D. Hazelrigg; a daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Alexander; three sisters, Kathryn Tunget, Helen Funk, and Alma Clark; and three brothers, O.T. Miller, Henry Clinton Miller, and James Edwin Miller.
Ruth enjoyed many hobbies alongside her husband including bridge, golf, traveling, and reading. She was also known as a fabulous cook and always took great pride when entertaining family and friends.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Joan (Bryan) Krebs of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jonathan Alexander of Wilmington, NC, Timothy Alexander of Henderson, Andrew (Karla) Krebs of Chicago, and Paul (Kieu) Krebs of Indianapolis.; great-grandchildren, Elsa and Anna Alexander-Black, Ada and Charlie Krebs, Conrad Krebs, and son-in-law, Mark Kaser.
Family and friends are invited to attend a burial service in Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
