Ruth Roby Finnell

Ruth Roby Finnell, 76, of the Carmel Home died Saturday, July 13, 2002 at the Carmel Home. She was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on July 10, 1926 the daughter of Forrest Augustus and Ida Mae OBryan Roby. Her husband, Jack C. Finnell, preceded her in death on November 15, 1995.

Mrs. Finnell was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and Owensboro Garden Club. She enjoyed playing tennis and sewing. Mrs. Finnell graduated from St. Francis Academy.

Survivors include one son, Chris Finnell of Owensboro; four daughters, Patty Fultz of Louisville, Pamela Smith of Atlanta, GA, Jackie Taylor and Cindy Griffin both of Owensboro; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Roby of St. Louis, MO and one sister, Mary Elizabeth Brown of Owensboro; several nieces; nephews; great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2002 at Immaculate Catholic Church, officiated by Father Timothy Sweeney. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2002 and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
