Ruth Anna Black Allison

Ruth Anna Black Allison, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. Her husband, James E. Allison, died in 1983.

The Paducah, KY native was a member of First Baptist Church and the Service Sunday school class, and a graduate of Murray State Teachers College. Her interests included reading, gardening, and bridge.

Survivors include two daughters, Julia A. Gilmore of Owensboro and Joan A. Krebs of Birmingham, 2 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, and 5 step-grandchildren.

The funeral service is 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church. Visitation is from 2 until 6 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the Boulware Center.
