Russell Lynn "Pete" Arnold, 56, of At The Post Court, Owensboro, died Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mr. Arnold was born in Ohio County to the late Jessie and Gola (Stone) Arnold. He graduated from Fordsville High School and attended Western Kentucky University. In the 1970's Pete played bass in a rock band, the Apple Corps. He was an engineer for Premium Allied Tool- The Hines Group, and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. Pete began at PAT and through their apprenticeship program became a tool and die maker, and later became a project engineer. He became an ordained deacon at Zion Baptist Church and was presently a deacon at Bellevue Baptist. He loved his family and his church Life Group. He enjoyed helping and serving others, playing his guitar, animals and sports especially playing tennis with his co-workers. He loved being a Papaw. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jess (Herkie) Arnold Jr. and Jim Arnold, and a sister, Linda Carroll Arnold.

Surviving is his wife of 36 years, Gail Arnold, a son Russell Arnold Jr., daughter, Amy (Jason) Bellamy and granddaughter Savannah Bellamy, who was the light of his life, a brother, Roger Whitler , all of Owensboro, and a brother John Whitler of Bethesda, M.D. along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010 at Seven Hills Baptist Church with Dr. Greg Faulls officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, and after 9:30 a.m. Monday at the church. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Building Fund of Bellevue Baptist Church.
