Russell Freeman Allison, 78, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1955 as a staff sergeant. Russell graduated from Brescia College in 1962 with an accounting degree. He worked for Seedman and Seedman CPA firm in Evansville, Dorsett Corporation in Louisville, and retired from Jasper Cabinet in 1999. His children and grandchildren were his life. Holidays will never be the same again Daddy. He was preceded in death by his parents Hezzie and Virgil (OBrien) Allison and two sisters, Roberta and Elsie.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Magdalene Maggie Fulkerson Allison; four children, Vicki (Steve) Henry of Reynolds Station, Rusty (Stefany) Allison of Whitesville, Robin (Ron) Mosser of Louisville, and Rick (Renay) Allison of Louisville; one brother Leroy (Gayle) Allison of Bowling Green; two sisters, Lucille Nichols of Owensboro and Shirley (Charlie) Gillespie of Whitesville;14 grandchildren, Fawn, Steve II, Erin, Ashley, Tabatha, John, Cameron, Mattie, Chyenne, Carson, Willy, Cade, Brick, and Wyatt; one great-grandchild, Charlie William; and 14 nieces and nephews/
Services are at 12:00 noon Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Reverend Scott Casebier of Whitesville Baptist Church will be conducting the service and John Derek Henry will be singing It Is Well with My Soul for his loving papaw.
