Ruby May Sharp

Ruby May (Coombs) Sharp, 88, of Venice, FL, formerly of Owensboro, died Sunday, May 30, 2004, in Venice. She was born May 23, 1916, to the late G.W and Mamie Williams Coombs, in Ohio County. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. Ruby became a Christian at the early age of nine and has been involved in church work for more than 60 years by teaching Sunday School, being a leader in WMU, a member of the Baptist womens association and many other committees and duties within the church. She was a member of Eastern Star for more than 60 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Joe Daniel Sharp, who died June 28, 2001.

Survivors include one daughter and her husband, Joy and Jim Mason of Venice, FL; one grandson, Randy Mason and three great-grandchildren, all of Lexington, KY; one sister, Lorene Kessinger of Hartford, KY.

Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, June 4, 2004, at Owensboro Memorial Gardens, entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10:00 until 1:30 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kentucky Baptist Childrens Home, 10200 Linn Station Road, #200, Louisville, KY, 40223.
