Roy Delbert Rutledge, 86, of Greenville, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014. He was born August 14, 1928 in Franklin Co., KY to the late John G. and Katherine Robertson Rutledge. Roy was a member of Owensboro Christian Church, a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, woodworking, and spending time at his farm. Roy was Co-Founder and President/C.E.O. of Premium Allied Tool, Inc. from 1966 until 1979. He was the Engineer, designer, and builder of precision progressive tools and dies for the metal stamping industry. He was a mentor of young men and women passing on the knowledge he had to younger generations through apprenticeship programs. He was also preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Lillian May Rutledge, two sons, Roy Rutledge, Jr. and Kenneth Rutledge, and a grandson, Christopher Rutledge, and a brother, John Rutledge.
Roy is survived by his wife, June Rutledge of Greenville, a son, Robert (Judy) Rutledge of Louisville, his daughter, Sara (David) Quisenberry of Owensboro, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two brothers, James Rutledge of Sadieville, KY and Charles Rutledge of Chatham, AL, and three sisters, Jean Hamilton of Corinth, KY, Hazel Mulberry of Sadieville, and Mary Crook of Corinth..
Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, November 5, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with entombment following in Rosehill Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home
