Roy C. Rhodes

Roy C. Rhodes, 92, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Owensboro Center. Born July 29, 1920 in Richmond, Virginia, a son of the late Laurance Samuel and Hattie Gay Howell Rhodes, Mr. Rhodes was a graduate of Hampden Sydney College in Virginia. Prior to his retirement, he was manager of production at Field Packing Company. Mr. Rhodes was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. His wife Jenevieve Bishop Rhodes preceded him in death in March of 1998. He was also preceded in death by nephews Laurance S. "Dusty" Rhodes and Raymond Eddy.

Survivors include his niece, Caren Kessler, and Dusty's wife Rayanne Rhodes, his great nieces, great-great nieces and nephews, great-great-great niece and very special friends David and Linda Isbell.

The funeral service for Mr. Rhodes, officiated by Pastor Liberty Lausterer, will be 12:00 noon Saturday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be at the funeral home beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Richmond, VA.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the memorial fund of Faith Lutheran Church.
