Roy L. Lindsey

Roy L. Lindsey, 73, of 2778 Hayden Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on September 7, 1928 the son of Simon and Virgie Childress Lindsey. A daughter, Marsha Ann Lindsey preceded Mr. Lindsey in death in 1956.

Mr. Lindsey retired from Addison Corp. after 37 years. He was a member of St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church and St. Pius Tenth Cooking Team. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mabel Hardy Lindsey; a son, Steve Lindsey of Philpot; two daughters, Kim Menche and Leslye Scott, both of Owensboro; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Gilbert Lindsey of Philpot; and a sister, Mary Rose Whitehouse of Philpot.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2002 at St. Pius Tenth Catholic Church, officiated by Father Richard Meredith. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2002 and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
