Roxie Simmons Wade

Roxie Simmons Wade, 80, of Owensboro died Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. A son, Rollie David Wade preceded her in death in 1986.

The Daviess County native attended Owensboro High School and Owensboro Technical School, had been a beautician, retired from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital as a licensed practical nurse, was a member of First Baptist Church, and enjoyed crafts, quilting, and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Rollie Darrell Wade, a daughter, Norma Wade Bracher of Boonville, IN, a son, Dale Alan Wade of Phoenix, AZ, 4 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren.

Services are 11:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
