Rosie Lee Quinn Shadwick, 81, passed away Sunday May 6, 2007 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Patesville on November 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Nellie Veach Quinn; a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church; and worked at Glenmore Distillery, was a caregiver for 12 years, and retired from Hillcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 70 after 21 years of service. She enjoyed working with flowers and spending time with her family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband William Bill Shadwick in 1983, a son, Billy Shadwick, and brothers, Don Quinn, Gene Quinn, Curtis Quinn, and Ollie Quinn.
Mrs. Shadwick is survived by a son Gary (and Sandra) Shadwick of Whitesville; a daughter, Gay Nell Shadwick of Owensboro; grandchildren, William C. Shadwick, Selena Bunch, Elizabeth Leary, and Lee Shadwick; brothers, Lawrence Quinn and Jim Quinn of Owensboro; and a sister, Onnora Stone of Owensboro.
Services are 12 noon Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Father Freddie Byrd officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday and after 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday. Prayers will be at 6 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Blessed Mother Catholic Church or the Arthritis Foundation.
