Rosie Lee Loney

Rosie Lee Loney, 64, of 1624 Ohio Street, Owensboro, died Thursday, March 21, 2002 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Daviess County on August 7, 1937 the daughter of John F. and Lillian Garrett Straney, Sr.

Mrs. Loney retired from AT&T after 30 years. She was a member of Owensboro Christian Church and was active in Telecare Ministry, Telephone Pioneers, Stanley Order of Easter Star No. 253 and Families Anonymous. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family.

Survivors include her husband of 23 years, Earl Loney; three sons, Harold Richardson and Greg Richardson, both of Owensboro and Greg Loney of LarPorte, IN; two daughters Carla York of Owensboro and Candy Coy of Chattanooga, TN; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary Mickey Pruden of Owensboro; and nephews and nieces.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Owensboro Christian Church, officiated by Brother Myke Templeton. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.
