Rose Mary Cecil Lucas, 49, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, September 4, 2007. Born May 20, 1958 in Daviess Co., Mrs. Lucas was the daughter of the late Martin Hite Cecil, is survived by her mother, Rose Therese OBryan Cecil; was active in the Teens Encounter Christ movement and early work in a youth group in a local parish; and believed strongly in God and that the youth are the future.
Her hobbies included star gazing, fishing, and enjoying her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her loving husband, Larry Lucas; her son and daughter-in-law, Joshua Michael and Moriah Cecil; her grandchildren, Jacob Christian and Joannah Rose Cecil; her stepson and step daughter-in-law, Samuel and Laura Beal, her step-grandchildren, Sammy and Jeanette Beal; her sister, Geralyn Ceballos of Owensboro; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur Cecil of Indiana, Phillip and Anna Cecil of Alabama, Henry and Sandra Cecil of Kentucky, Stephen and Joanne Cecil of North Carolina, Ronald and Gina Cecil of Texas, and Jude and Sharon Cecil of Kentucky; seventeen nieces and nephews and three great-nieces.
Services are at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at SS Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating followed by ennichement at Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers to be said at 4:00 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy can be sent to the Rose Mary Lucas Cancer Fund at any Fifth Third Bank. Any remaining funds will be donated to the Hope Cancer Center in care of St. Marys Hospital, Evansville, IN.
