Rose Alice Hayden Kimbley, 84, of Owensboro, passed away May 4, 2018, at the Carmel Home. She was born August 4, 1933, in Daviess County to the late Ernest Sr. and Agatha Wethington Hayden. Rose was of the Catholic faith and a member of Saint Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and doll making.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Kimbley; sisters, Mary Naomi Ranta, Anna Sue Clukey, Martha Lee Saltsman, and ImoJean Clark; brothers, J.W. Hayden, Ernest Hayden Jr., and Jerry Hayden; and a grandson, James "Jamie" Kimbley III.
She is survived by two special nephews, Donnie Saltsman Jr., of Viera, FL, and Terry Joe Clukey, of Tulsa, OK; brother-in-laws, Donald Saltsman and D.J. Clark; her adopted daughter, Delores Turnage; and honorary grandchildren, Kaleb, Kyle, and Maddie.
Services will be 10am Monday, May 7, at Saint Pius X Catholic Church. Fr. Tom Buckman will be officiating. Visitation will be from 9am to 10am at the church. Burial will follow at St. Raphael Cemetery in Sorgho.
The family of Ms. Kimbley would like to give a special thanks to the sisters and staff of the Carmel Home for indeed making the Carmel Home a "home away from home" for Rose.
