Rose Virginia Freels, 84, of Maceo, died Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Harborside Health Care Center in Owensboro. She was born March 16, 1922 to the late Hooker and Margaret Kerstiens Wagner in Spencer County, IN. She owned and operated Freels Beauty Shop for over 50 years, was a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and a member of Maceo quilters club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Freels on December 1, 1981, a son, Scotty Freels on February 16, 1994 and a brother, Bill Wagner.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Glenn Freels and his wife, Alice of Maceo, Ronnie H. Freels and his wife, Joanna of Shelbyville, Paul Richard Freels and his wife, Marlene of Maceo; six grandchildren, Wendy Delp, Jennifer Blair, Joshua Freels, Brad Freels, Stephanie Appel and Desiree Tucker; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Jane Clark of San Antonio, TX and Barbara Ann Wall of Maceo.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday at St. Pius X Catholic Church with burial in St. Peters Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday with prayers at 6:30 PM at Glenn Funeral Home. Visitation on Wednesday will be after 8:30 AM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Yelvington Fire Department, 1124 Yelvington-Knottsville Road, Maceo, KY, 42355 or to St. Pius X Catholic Church Building Fund, 3152 East 6th Street, Owensboro, KY, 42303.
