Roscoe W. Howard

March 12, 1909 — April 2, 2001

Mr. Roscoe W. Howard, 92, of 920 Charles Scott Dr., Owensboro, died Tuesday, April 2 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. A native of the No Creek Community in Ohio County, KY, he retired from teaching after 33 years in the Ohio County, Hancock County and Owensboro Schools. He began his teaching career in a 1 room school in No Creek and later taught at Rockport, Pleasant Ridge and Sarvis Hill in Ohio County before teaching in Hancock County and at Sutton School in Owensboro. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Adrian Douglas Howard in 1986.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Myrl Jeanette ''Jackie'' Richeson Howard of Owensboro, 2 step-sons, Don Arnold and Terry Arnold of Owensboro, 2 step-daughters, Nancy Fulcher of Pleasant Ridge and Rebecca ''Becky'' Aud of Owensboro, 5 step-grandchildren and 6 step-great grandchildren, and a sister, Myrtle Richeson of Hartford.

Funeral services are 2 P.M. Thursday, April 5 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. Wednesday and after 10 A.M.Thursday.
