Rosalia Catherine Blum McPherson, 92, of Owensboro passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at the Carmel Home. Born in Detroit, MI on September 4, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rosa Blum; was a life-long homemaker and devoted wife and mother; and was a member of St Stephen Cathedral. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Uberto Lynn McPherson; brothers, John Blum, Charles Blum, and Lawrence Blum; and a sister, Margaret Hoscila.
Surviving are children, Patricia Engelke of Raleigh, NC, Charles (Mary) McPherson of Shelbyville, KY, Gene (Larry) Lyon of Owensboro, and Mary Beth (Jimmy) O'Donnell of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Janet Engelke, Karen (Mackenson) Nicolas, Patrick (Donna) McPherson, Sarah Ann (Steve) Kurowsky, David (Kimberly) McPherson, John (Michelle) Lyon, Laura (Brad) Johnson, Helen O'Donnell, and Greg O'Donnell; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Carmel Home with Father John Vaughan officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the Carmel Home. Private burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville.
Mrs. McPherson's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Carmel Home and requests that memorials take the form of donations to the Carmel Home Building Fund, 2501 Old Hartford Rd., Owensboro, KY 42303.
