Rosalia Martine Harper of Owensboro, died Friday, May 14, 2010 at her daughter's home. Rosalia was born in Daviess County to the late, Sherman and Mary (Knott) Howard. She lived in Brown's Valley until 1992 and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church before moving to Owensboro. She was a retired cook for the Daviess County School System and was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, her husband, James H. Harper preceded her in death in 1991 and a son, Michael Harper in 1956, and three sisters, Elizabeth Chissom, Rita Pisano, and Mary Howard Poynter.

Surviving are her children, Julia Harper Crisp, Sheila Harper, Jamie Harper, Jerry (Jenny) Harper and Danny Harper, all of Owensboro, two sisters, Margaret Mattingly and Beatrice Wooldridge, both of Owensboro, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Fr. Brad Whistle officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
