Ronald Joe Prater

Ronald J. Prater, Jr. passed away November 1, 2017. He was born May 3, 1955 in Owensboro to the late Bro. Ronald J. and Sarah Christine Prater. As a child and youth, Ronnie Joe enjoyed singing with his family at the church his father built and pastored for 53 years, Ridgewood Baptist Church. He was a 1973 graduate of Owensboro Senior High and will be remembered as a prankster and someone who liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed golf, attending The U.S. Open, watching the Evansville Otters, as well as working on and building computers. Ronnie Joe worked faithfully as a Maintenance Supervisor for his father's business, Prater Enterprises Inc. for over 15 years and continued to remain loyal to his father, Prater Enterprises Inc. and the legacy his father left. He was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Wayne Prater in 1993 and sister, Cindy Prater Satterfield in 2013.

Ronnie Joe is survived by nieces, Amy Prater Hardin (Chad), Amber Phillips (Jordan); nephews, Matthew Prater (Keiliah), Adam Satterfield and Aaron Prater (Abbie); several great nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Services will be private at Mr. Prater's request.
