Ronald Wilson Ford

July 29, 1941 — February 25, 2007

Ronald Wilson Ford, 65 of 814 Parkway Drive, Owensboro, died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Mr. Ford was a Vietnam War Veteran of the Army, and a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church, and a Kentucky Colonel. He was born in Muhlenburg County to Lanella Clardy Ford, and the late Woodrow Wilson Ford. He served in the Army from 1966 to 1968 and was discharged honorably as a specialist fifth class with good conduct medal and a purple heart. He later worked for Whirlpool Corporation for fourteen years in the press shop, and was a member of local union #808 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. His favorite place was at home with his children and family, and his hobbies were his grandchildren, fishing, hunting and U.K. basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Vineyard Ford, and two daughters, Rhonda Carol (Steven) Morcz and Kelly Marie (Jerry) Howard, and grandchildren, Brhett and Garrett Morcz, and Savannah and Tanner Howard, all of Owensboro, his mother, Lanella Ford, and a brother, Larry Hale Ford of Greenville, Kentucky, and a sister, Patricia Ann Steele of Madisonville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Herschel Morgan officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens will full military honors. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital Cancer Center.
