Ronald Lee Brantley, 64, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. He was born December 16, 1953 in Evansville to the late Doug and Virginia Gossman Brantley. Ron had been Vice-President of Doug Brantley and Sons, Inc. and also past President of GinMike—Brantley Brothers, Inc., and was a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Union Local #181. He was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Knottsville and was a 1971 graduate of Daviess Co. High School where he played football. Ron was a member of the Ensor Masonic Lodge #729 F. & A.M., was a member of the Scottish Rite and a 32nd Degree Mason, the York Rite and the Rizpah Temple. He was a Shrine clown for many years and was always known as "Bubba". Ron was a motorcycle enthusiast for many years and enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson trike and going on road trips with all his friends of the "Over The Hill Cruisers". He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Larry Parr.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Peggy Boling Brantley, his daughter, Micki Howard and husband Scott (Chico) of Owensboro, three grandchildren, Trevor Scott, Kendall Lee, and Madison Lynn Howard, his sister, Judith B. Parr of Birmingham, AL, his brother, Mike Brantley and wife Lisa of Owensboro, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, and uncles.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 9, at St. William Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and 9:30-10:30 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 5:00 P.M. Thursday followed by a Masonic service at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
