Roland Otie Karr, 74, of Owensboro, died Monday, June 26, 2006, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born August 6, 1931 to the late Otho and Ruth Neutzling Karr in Rochelle, IL. Mr. Karr graduated from Middleport High School in Middleport, OH and Brescia University in Owensboro. He has been a member of Faith Lutheran Church for 40 years, a past Vice-President and Treasurer of the Help Office and a Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Commonwealth Aluminum and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and being with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Shirley; his daughters, Debbie Record and her husband, Mark of Owensboro, Diane Tucker of Carlyle, IL, Sandi Feria and her husband, Ed, of Bowling Green; five grandchildren, Chris Record, Jennifer and Jessie Tucker, Madison and Emily Feria; his brother, Don Karr and his wife, Delma, of Middleport, OH and his sister, Joan Morris of Pomeroy, OH; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, at Faith Lutheran Church with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday and after 11:30 AM Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 2830 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY, 42301 or Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY, 42301.
