Roger Dale McCarthy
January 20, 1960 — January 15, 2014
Roger Dale McCarthy, 53, a native of Owensboro, died January 15, 2014 at his brother's home. He was born January 20, 1960 to the late Mary McCarthy Sumner. Roger worked as a concrete finisher. He was of the Baptist faith. Roger enjoyed NASCAR, fishing, playing the guitar and especially loved his dog "TAZ."
He also was preceded in death by his step father, David Sumner, and grandmothers, Helen Perkins and Willie McCarthy.
Surviving are his brothers and sisters, David Sumner of Owensboro, Danny (Martha) Payne of Utica, Kathy (Stewart) Payne of Livermore, Lisa Sumner and Jenny (Phillip) Evans all of Owensboro; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Denny Campbell presiding. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10 am on Saturday at the funeral home.
