Rodney E. Wheatley

Rodney E. Wheatley, 48, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on August 10, 1961 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Robert and Jean McCarthy Wheatley. He was employed as a mechanic for Johnson Control, Inc. and was a U. S. Army veteran. He was a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, riding all types of motorcycles, family gatherings, and working on cars.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Gelita Wheatley, three sons, Brandon and wife Angie, Brad and wife Tiffany, and Ricky, all of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Brayden, Nevaeh, Ariane, Remington, and Skyla, two brothers, Darrell Wheatley of Owensboro and Craig Davis of Leitchfield, his in-laws, Cliff and Brenda Clark of Owensboro, several cousins, nieces and nephews, a special nephew, Shane Davis of Leitchfield, a sister and brother-in-law, Becky and Doug Rowans of Newburgh, IN, and life long friends, Larry Edge, Elvis Brockwell, and Jeff Payne.

Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, June 9, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
