Robin Lizette Morris Smith

Robin Lizette Morris Smith, 66, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Owensboro Center. Born July 25, 1952 in Rochester, Indiana to the late Jack D. and Ruth Jane Reed Morris, Robin grew up in California after her parents left Indiana and graduated from high school in 1970. She represented her city by being crowned Miss La Habra in 1971 and soon attended California State University in San Diego. Robin relocated to Illinois and then to Kentucky where she met her future husband, Sherill Smith, and lived in Utica. Robin moved to Owensboro and worked for several companies before being employed at the Owensboro Messenger-Inquirer as a district manager from which she retired in 2016. Robin loved her family, gardening, cooking, Kentucky Lake, and her pets. She was a strong, independent woman with a good sense of humor.

In addition to her parents, Robin also was preceded in death by her husband, Sherill Smith; a fiance', William Cezeski; and nephew, Jack R. Morris, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her companion, Jimmy Woosley of Owensboro; sister, Michelle Sklar (Jack) of Chino California; brothers, Jack Morris (Narce) of Hanford, California, Patrick Morris (Julean) of Nampa, Idaho, and Timothy Morris (Cindy) of Corona, California; twelve nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Robin's life will be 7:00 pm Friday, July 5 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with visitation from 5:00 until 7:00 pm. Interment will be in Harbor Beach, Michigan.
