Robert Edward Watson, 83 of Owensboro, died Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Wellington Parc. Robert was born July 15, 1929 in Powell River, British Columbia, Canada to the late Robert R. and Elizabeth B. (Cairn) Watson. As a teen he was in the Boy Army in Canada before coming to the U.S. He was a Master Machinist and enjoyed gunsmithing and Mustang cars. He came to Kentucky to help start up Western Kraft Paper Mill in Hawesville, and he retired from Jefferson Smurfitt as Plant Engineer in Alton, IL. He was preceded in death also by his loving wife, Leslie B. Watson in June, 2005. He was a member of the Church of England.
Surviving are his four children, Bradley (Pam) Watson of Brevard, NC, Wendy (Stephen) Eubanks of Owensboro, Tracy (Orville) Snyder of Lewisport, and David (Tamara) Watson of Alton, IL, five grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a sister, June E. Richardson of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
