Robert Delbert Ulmer

Robert Delbert Ulmer, 86, of 3959 Normandy Drive, passed away on Tuesday May 15, 2007 at the V. A. Hospital in Marion, Ill. He was born in Benton, Ark. to the late Edward & Minnie Kennemer Ulmer. He was the former owner-operator of Ulmer Sheet Metal, and Portable Sheet Metal, and was a fireman in the U. S. Coast Guard during World War II. He was a member of Third Baptist Church and enjoyed raising a vegetable garden and selling them at the Farmers Market. He also enjoyed bowling, horse racing, and fox hunting in his younger days. He was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren, Jayden Clark Ulmer in 2006 and Jaxon Blake Spurrier in 2007, three brothers, Otis, Coy, and Elmo Ulmer, and a sister, Hazel Newcomb.

Surviving are 2 sons, Robert Dean Ulmer and wife Patty and Kerry Ulmer and wife Sheila, all of Owensboro, three daughters, Deniese Draeger and husband Aaron of Owensboro, Kim Bugary and husband Russ of Beaver Creek, Oh., and Jennifer Bruner of Louisville, 15 grandchildren, Mandy Ulmer Blanton, Derek Ulmer. Justin Ulmer, Nathan Ulmer, Jonathan Spurrier, Jared Spurrier, Zachary Draeger, Evan Draeger, Brittany Bugary, Preston Bugary, Lauren Bruner, Cody Bruner, Zachary Faith, Brooklyn Embry, and Madison Embry, and a sister, Lucille Atchison and husband Doyle of Livia.

Services will be 2:30 P.M. Friday, May 18, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
