Robert Joel "Joe" Stansberry, passed away at his home in Owensboro, KY on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the age of 79.
Joe was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1934. He graduated from Washington High School in 1952. He worked as a mold maker for Hazel Atlas Glass in Washington and went on to work as a tool and die maker for McGraw-Edison in Cannonsburg, PA for 34 years until retired. Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958, where he spent most of his time stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of the Elks and Moose Lodges, American Legion, and VFW. He enjoyed watching sports, cooking, raising a garden, and spending time with his family, especially vacationing together.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia (Jamison) Stansberry. They were married in Winchester, VA, on September 14, 1956. He is also survived by daughters, Traci Chesley (Roger Fetty) of Milton, WV, and Tammie (Jim) Roberts of Owensboro, KY, a grandson, Joe Roberts of Morehead, Ky, and other family and friends.
