Robert Earl Shouse

Robert Earl Shouse, 66, of Maceo died on October 16, 2013 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Oda and Clara M. Shouse.

Robert was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in Germany during the Vietnam War.

Robert enjoyed building and had been self-employed as a home builder since 1995. Prior to that, he was employed by Modern Welding for more than 22 years. Robert enjoyed reading the Bible and served as an ordained deacon at Immanuel Baptist Church. He was also a former member of New Panther Creek Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Eugene Shouse in 2005; a grandson, Christopher Ray Love in 1995; and a sister, Betty Mae Burden in 1998.

Robert is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria Darlene Shouse; a daughter, Pam Russell (Mike) of Glasgow, KY; sons, Allen Shouse (Jamie) of Owensboro and Anthony Shouse (Shellie) of Georgetown, KY; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Clark of Owensboro; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Oda Shouse (Kathy) of Owensboro, Noah Lee Shouse (Joan) of Kokomo, IN, Jimmy Shouse (Barbara) of Owensboro and Kirt Shouse (Debbie) of Owensboro; a sister, Jean Shangle (Jim) of Louisville; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 2 PM on Saturday, October 19 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Bro. Roy Douglas and Bro. Tony Shouse will officiate. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Friday from 3-8 PM and on Saturday after 11 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the family of Mr. Shouse.
